Temporary Court Notice
Two of four courts are currently open for use. Courts are to be shared between Tennis and Pickleball players while facility improvements are underway. We are currently adding dedicated tennis court lines and completing additional court improvements.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance the facility for all users. Thank you for sharing the courts and supporting recreation in our community.

The tennis and pickleball courts are located inside Fernwood Park, a Neighborhood Park located in Wheatland Subdivision. The courts are open seasonally and are very popular. Limited parking is available.
General Court Rules
- Courts are for pickleball and tennis use only
- Court hours: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Proper non-marking athletic footwear required
- Children under 12 must be supervised
- No skateboards, bicycles, or pets on the courts
- No food, glass containers, or alcohol allowed
- Please clean up after yourself and dispose of all trash
- Do not climb or sit on nets
- Be respectful—no loud music or disruptive behavior
- Use courts at your own risk
Court Usage Guidelines
- Courts may be used on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved
- Rotation encouraged when others are waiting
- Limit play to:
- 1.5 hours for doubles
- 1 hour for singles when others are waiting
- WCEP Pickleball Club has exclusive use of the west courts Monday to Thursday from May 1 to August 31, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- The Town encourages pickleball players to use sound-dampening paddles and balls
- Please respect designated times for tennis and pickleball play, if posted
Evening Court Designations
Council has approved an updated “Quiet Courts” operating model for evening pickleball play at Fernwood Courts. The new approach is intended to help balance recreational access while continuing to address noise considerations for nearby residents.
Quiet Courts - South Side (Southwest Court & Southeast Court)
✔ Quiet pickleball paddles and balls required
✔ Only approved quiet equipment permitted
Standard Play Courts - North Side (Northwest Court & Northeast Court)
✔ Standard pickleball equipment permitted
Club Use Courts - West Courts
✔ White City Emerald Park Pickleball Club
✔ Monday – Thursday evenings (as scheduled)
✔ Still subject to quiet equipment requirements
Conditional Use Courts - East Courts
✔ Used when not required for tennis
✔ Quiet equipment required when used for pickleball
Court Lighting Rules
- Court lights operate on a 60-minute timer
- If the lights turn off during your play, please reset the timer for the remaining time
- When finished playing, reset the timer to zero to turn the lights off
- Be considerate—only use the lights when necessary and during posted court hours (8:00 AM – 10:00 PM)
Court Rentals & Fees
Court rentals and tournament bookings are available if you wish to reserve a specific time. To inquire about availability or secure a booking, please contact adoig@whitecity.ca or 306-781-2355 ext. 225.
Options include:
- Hourly court rentals
- Full-day tournament rentals (note: setup services not included)
- Seasonal rentals (covers exclusive use from May 1 to August 31)
Drop-in use remains free of charge and is subject to the posted time limits: 1.5 hours for doubles and 1 hour for singles
