The Town knows pets are part of the family. When Rover gets loose (and let’s be honest, what dog hasn’t pulled a Houdini and escaped on us?), we want to get him back to his loving family as efficiently and quickly as possible.

The town has an updated Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw. Increasing the information we receive about your furry friend means we can tell Spot from Dot when he goes for an unsanctioned tour of the neighbourhood — and we haven’t forgot about your feline friends either!

Here are a few updated requirements related to your furry friend:

  • All dogs & cats over six-months of age must be licensed. It costs $25 for a spayed or neutered animal and $50 for intact animals.
  • There is no cost to register a certified service dog or police dog, but we do still require information on your dog.
  • There is a maximum of 5 dogs and/or cats per household.

Haven’t got your dog or cat registered yet? Contact the Town Office to register your pet. It’s a bylaw but more importantly, it can reunite you with that family member who sometimes eats your favourite shoes, but you can’t help but love ‘em anyway.

If you have already registered your pet with the Town Office, we would love for you to update your pet's information by calling 306-781-2355 or emailing  townoffice@whitecity.ca to provide us with this additional information.
