Community Spring/Fall Cleaning

Do you have branches, leaves and/or household materials to get rid of? Are you decluttering and cleaning up? Use the following services provided by the Town to help you out.

Branch Chipping - April 26, 2026 and september 20, 2026

Please note, there are changes coming to the branch chipping program in 2026. To enhance efficiency, crews will be switching to a single pass (“Once Through Town”) approach.

What does this mean?

  • You must have your branches out no later than April 26, 2026 (for the spring program) and September 20, 2026 (for the fall program).
  • Crews will start chipping the day after the deadline and will continue until every street has been completed once.

Any branches placed after the deadline will not be accepted. Public Works will have a dash camera with GPS and time stamps to document where and when chipping operations occur; this will help verify completed routes and resolve any disputes regarding missed piles.

Please pile branches neatly at the front curb area with the cut end facing the road. Crews will allocate a maximum of 10 minutes per property to chip branches from routine tree trimming. The maximum pile size is 8 feet long by 4 feet tall. Piles will not be collected if they:

  • Exceed reasonable size limits;
  • Contain garbage or debris;
  • Include black knot;
  • Contain tree stumps or roots; or
  • Are placed after the deadline.

A door knocker will be placed on any properties with a pile that cannot be chipped. Final decision will remain at the discretion of the Public Works Manager and/or Town Foreman.

Crews will work through neighbourhoods in the following order:

  1. McKenzie Point
  2. McKenzie Landing
  3. Wheatland
  4. Bower Grover
  5. Bower Estates
  6. Bower West 3
  7. Bower West 2
  8. Bower West 1
  9. Confederation
  10. Rosewood
  11. Poplar Park
  12. Kingsmere Park
  13. Lott Road
  14. Emerald Ridge
  15. Christopher Place
  16. Emerald Gate E
  17. Emerald Vista
  18. Garden of Eden
  19. Emerald Creek
  20. Fairway

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works Manager at 306-552-3848.

Leaf Bag Pick Up: May 11-22, 2026 and OCtober 12-23, 2026

For leaf bag pickup service, all bags must be paper bags (biodegradable and compostable). Absolutely no plastic bags will be collected.

The leaf bag pick up service is offered community-wide, twice per year. Please have bags neatly piled at the curb area. Town Staff is limited to a 30-minute time limit per property. Please keep bags under 50 lbs.

All residents who wish to use the service must have paper leaf bags out at the front property road edge no later than two days before the end of the program.

Clean Up Bins: May 20-28, 2026 and October 21-29, 2026

Bins for the community spring cleaning will be at the Splash Park on Lipsett Street. Depending on the weather, these dates may be subject to change.

  • 3 household/mixed waste
  • 1 metal only
  • 1 recycling only

Please separate your items into the appropriate bins for waste, metal, and recycling. If the bins are full, we ask that you hold on to your items and dispose of them the following business day rather than piling items beside the bins. If you are unsure which bin to use please use the household/mixed waste bins.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT dispose of the following items in ANY of the bins or on the side of any of the bins:

  • Concrete, shingles dirt and gravel
  • Bulbs and light ballasts ( can be taken to K-Light Recycling in Regina)
  • Hazardous materials
  • Tires
  • Propane tanks
  • Car batteries
  • Paint
  • Oil or chemicals.
  • No items longer than 7 feet (wood or metal)
  • Railway ties, telephone poles or creosote treated wood is allowed.
  • Coils of wire or banding
  • Appliances containing Freon.
  • Box spring and mattresses.

Notice to residents: Please do not overfill the bins; if the bin is full, please hold on to your items. Public Works is monitoring the bins and calling Loraas to arrange for pick up as soon as they’re full. Overloading the bins, as seen in the photo, causes delays in pick up and pulls our Public Works crew from other jobs to empty the overfilled bin before Loraas will empty the bins. That means delays for you and your fellow residents.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Christmas Tree Pick Up: January 4-8, 2027

Town staff will start picking up your used Christmas tree once the new year begins. Please make sure all decorations and lights are removed from the tree before placing it on your driveway with the stump facing towards the road. Town staff will be driving around collecting trees continuously throughout the days.

Thank you for your cooperation!
