The Regular Poll will be held at the White City Community Centre and will open at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
An advance poll will be held Sunday November 3, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the White City Community Centre
Who Can Vote?
You are eligible to vote if you meet the following criteria as of November 13, 2024:
- You are a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age on the day of the election
- You have you lived in Saskatchewan for at least six (6) consecutive months
- You are a resident of White City or you have owned assessable land within the town for at least three (3) consecutive months
A voter must vote in the municipality in which they reside; or must be the owner of assessable land situated in the municipality.
What do I Need to Vote?
When you go to vote, you must bring either:
- a government-issued photo ID that shows your name and address
- or two pieces of government-issued ID - one that shows your name and another that shows your name and address.
Acceptable forms of identification include those issued by the Government of Canada, the Government of Saskatchewan, a municipality or a government agency.

Because the Town of White City doesn’t maintain a voters list, all eligible voters are required to fill out a registration form.
To make voting quick and easy, we recommend printing and filling out your Voter Registration Form before coming down to the poll. Forms will be posted to the website once approved.
Forms will be available to fill out at the polling station during Advanced and Regular Polls.

Mail-in Ballots:
All eligible voters have the option to apply to mail in their ballot.
Applying for mail-in ballot:
Applications for mail-in ballots are accepted between September 3 and October 20, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
All eligible voters applying for this option are required to:
- fill out a Voter Registration and Declaration of Person Request Mail-In Ballot Form (forms also available in-person at the Town Office);
- include a copy of government-issued photo ID that shows your name and address; and
- include a copy of one additional piece of the Acceptable Forms of Identification.
Your mail-in application can be submitted by:
Canada Post Regular Mail;
Registered Mail;
Courier;
Electronic Mail to townoffice@whitecity.ca; or
by dropping it off in-person at the Town Office at 14 Ramm Avenue East, White City, SK between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday.
Casting your mail-in ballot:
Completed mail-in ballots must be received at the Election Office before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (November 13) in order to be counted. Post-mark dates shall not be used to determine acceptance of mail-in ballots.
Your mail-in ballot can be accepted through:
- Canada Post Regular Mail;
- Registered Mail;
- Courier;
- by dropping it off in-person at the Town Office at 14 Ramm Avenue East, White City, SK or at the Regular Poll.
A person who has requested a mail-in ballot is deemed to have voted and will not be provided a ballot at any other poll.

How do I know where to vote?
The Regular Poll will be held at the White City Community Centre at 12 Ramm Avenue East, White City, SK.
If you qualify as an absentee voter, you can request a mail-in ballot package from September 3 to October 20.
Do I have to be registered to vote?
If you are eligible to vote, you must complete a Voter Registration Form.
You can either complete your form ahead of time and bring it with you to make your voting experience quicker, or forms will be available to fill out at the polling stations.
Are polling stations accessible?
Yes. All polling stations are accessible to persons who use mobility-assisted devices.
What can I expect when I go to my polling place to vote?
Once the election official(s) have accepted your voter registration form, you will be given two ballots.
You are eligible to vote for:
1) The Mayor; and
2) Six (6) Candidates for Council.
You may only vote for one candidate for Mayor and up to six candidates for Council.
When you receive the ballots, fill in the oval beside your candidate(s) of choice.
When you are finished marking your ballot, you will fold it and place it in the secure ballot box.
What does at-large mean?
The Town of White City Council is comprised of the Mayor and six Councillors at-large. At-large means that Councillors can be elected from any area in town and do not represent a distinct ward or district.
Some municipalities, like the City of Regina, utilize a ward system. A ward is the district of the municipality in which you live. Voters are assigned to a polling area within their ward, determined by their address.

What if I can’t vote on Election Day/can’t get to my polling location?
To make voting easy and accessible, we offer several ways to cast a ballot that fit your schedule and unique needs.
I’m a White City voter living abroad. Can I vote?
The only way you can vote from abroad is if you apply for a mail-in ballot.
I have been away from my residence in White City for my work as a member of the Canadian Forces or as the spouse/dependent of a member of the Canadian Forces. Can I vote?
Yes. You are considered a resident of the last place you resided before your service.
I have been away from my residence in White City to study at an educational institution outside Saskatchewan. Can I vote?
Yes. Until you complete or abandon your studies, you are considered a resident of the place in which you resided immediately before leaving to pursue studies.
How will votes be tabulated?
Votes will be tabulated by hand pursuant to the regulations of The Local Government Election Act, 2015.
The Returning Officer will make an official declaration of results on Thursday November 14, 2024.
What happens in the event of a tie?
In the event of a tie, the Returning Officer will: write the names of the tied candidates on separate blank sheets of paper of equal size, colour and texture; fold the sheets in a uniform manner and so the names are concealed; deposit them in a receptacle; direct a person to withdraw one of the sheets. Whichever tied candidate’s name is on the drawn sheet shall be declared elected.
The ballots remain sealed in a secure location for a period of three months, after which they are destroyed.
