Splish Splash - we'll be taking a quick break at the Splash Park! Weather pending, the splash pad will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday July 6th and it scheduled to reopen Thursday July 7th at 3:00 p.m.

The splash pad will be closed while we apply a second coat of paint to the features which will help keep our new facility bright and protected from the elements.

Thanks for your patience!

The Splash Park has been soaking citizens and keeping kids cool in the White City/Emerald Park area from June until September since 2009. With THREE designated playground areas, complete with slides, climbing apparatuses, swing sets, and wheelchair-accessible structures, the Splash Pad and Park is 1.4 acres of pure joy in Poplar Park! There are tables and garbage receptacles for those looking to spend a spring or summer day picnicking. Throwing a party or event? The Town of White City received $122,250 through the Government of Canada’s Canada Community Revitalization Fund towards the renovation of the town’s splash park. An additional $90,000 was provided through the Government of Saskatchewan’s Municipal Economic Enhancement Program and $87,750 from the Town of White City’s asset renewal reserve.

The upgrade and expansion of the spray park will allow more residents and visitors to use the spray park and will include accessible water features so that people of all abilities can enjoy the facility.

"Our government is supporting infrastructure projects to help Canadians re-engage in and explore their communities through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund,” said the Honourable Daniel Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan. “Community recreation spaces that everybody can enjoy, like the new accessible splash park in White City, will help maintain the physical and mental health of residents.”

“We greatly appreciate the contribution from Prairies Economic Development Canada,” said Mayor Brian Fergusson. “The splash park is a very popular feature in our community. We are excited to have support from federal and provincial partners in rejuvenating this facility and being able to add new accessibility features.”

Work commenced on the project in 2021 with the demolition of the previous splash pad at the end of the season. The project is scheduled for completion by May 31, 2022.

The original splash park, constructed by a team of community volunteers, provided a quality facility for a number of years.

The Town of White City will be holding the grand opening of the new splash park in conjunction with a summer festival on June 11, 2022.
