Councillor Cecil Snyder

Joyce and I purchased a lot in White City in the fall of 1974 shortly after our marriage in June. We built our home the following year and moved in the spring of 1976. We raised our three daughters Lisa, Tennille and Michelle in what was then a small but progressive community and have enjoyed the small town atmosphere.

In 1978 I began my own construction business which I still operate. Over the years we have been involved in many different activities within the community. Our company built the first Fire Hall which is now used as a maintenance shop for the Town. I was a member of the volunteer fire department for a number of years.

My interests outside the community include belonging to the Regina Corvette Club for many years. I have held many positions within the club including President. I am currently the clubs Director for the Canadian Council for Corvette Clubs. This is the national body that oversees and insures the member clubs in Canada. Over the years I have also held positions on the national executive of this organization. Joyce and I have traveled a great deal in recent years with the club and have made many friends in western Canada.

This is my 3rd term on the White City council and I have enjoyed the always interesting, sometimes controversial, items that come before council. The new town office was something that I was very much involved with because of my construction background and the same has been true with the sewer project of the last 4 years.

I believe the choice that Joyce and I made more than 30 years ago to move to White City was definitely the right one. We have thoroughly enjoyed life in this community.
